Bill Summary: This bill would expand that the definition of "wage" to include overtime wages as used in the Wage Payment and Collection Law.

Chamber Position: Oppose

Position Summary: This bill attempts to “double dip” and permit employees to seek penalties of Maryland Wage Payment and Collection Law claims that are not currently allowed. It is inappropriate to add wage collection in areas where it is already covered under law. For these reasons, the Maryland Chamber opposes this bill.
